Aspartame causes cancer wtf?

Written by The Kid on October 25, 2007

This is kinda old and has nothing to do with marketing but what the hell i just read this story about Aspartame and it looks like they have done a study with rats and concluded it causes cancer, so the next time you decide hmmm should i have that diet coke or eat that gum with aspartame just say no, but i do see this being a good keyword once they come up with a term for aspartame cancer, i.e mesothelioma for asbestos cancer. Which is going for over $50/click in adwords right now!

I realize this is completely unrelated, but when did you do another change of your blog design. I preferred the right sidebar over the left one. It’d also be nice to bring the rooster back. :)

w00t this study is like light years behind, we had an alert for those diet cokes, and all other types of sugar replacers.

But that’s funny; You have to options.
1 You can get very fat, and your teeth will slowly vaporise.
2 You will be normal but rotten from inside.

    hmmm…

Yep, and too much of it in something like Diet Coke will simulate the symptoms MS.

    Lame post dude!

“Oh no, the sky is falling! The sky is falling!” Perhaps you should
change your name from Big Cock to Chicken Little.

“The results of this mega-experiment indicate that APM is a multipotential carcinogenic agent, even at a daily dose of 20 mg/kg body weight.”

    I weigh 82 kg. 82 *20 = 1,640 mg of aspartame. 1,640/131 mg (amount of aspartame
in 1 can of Diet Coke) = 12.5 cans of Diet Coke a day for life. Drinking that much Diet Coke would make me want to die!

By the way, the 20 mg/day represents the 400 ppm cited in the study. As for the rest of the study (using my body weight of 82 kg):

    2,000 ppm is 100 mg/kg or 8,200 mg / 131 = 62 cans of Diet Coke a day for life.
    10,000 ppm is 500 mg/kg or 41,000 mg/131 = 313 cans of Diet Coke a day for life.
    50,000 ppm is 2,500 mg/kg or 205,000 mg/131 = 1,564 cans of Die Coke a day for life.

Sorry for being a dick, but your blog is beginning to suck!

Theobromine (found in chocolate) can be toxic to dogs at 100mg/kg of body weight; but not toxic to humans. The aspartame study was conducted with rats rather than humans, so I’ll be sure not to feed my pet rat aspartame;-)

Nonetheless, I see the point you’re trying to make.

Did you know that large quantities of water can also kill you? Last year a lady died as the result of drinking too much water during a radio contest - http://www.msnbc.msn(dot)com/id/16660273/

Some products that contain water include:
    *water
    *ice
    *fruits
    *vegetables
    *beer
    *pop
    *tea
    *coffee
    *milk

I hope you don’t consume too much of these;-)
