Cookie Stuffing for fun and profit!
Written by The Kid on April 7, 2008Well it’s testing time and like i promised it rhymes with cookie stuffing, for this we are going to use the guide over at ESRUN - Blackhat SEO to do a little test, we are going to be using the Image Cookie Stuffing Method.
Basic Run down
Cookie stuffing is when you insert your cookie into the clients browser, kinda of like if you were a salesman for a company and you walked up to people in the mall and said when you go to Bestbuy tell them Joe sent you. This will allow you to collect your commission from the sale, so what we do is go and place our image on places that people shop or even better prepare to shop, i.e forums, blogs, wiki anywhere that lets you upload a avatar image or any image.
Things that are required
1. Own hosting, this can be shared hosting where your blog is.
2. Affiliate accounts with major companies or affiliate companies.
3. To automate this you can use a forum posting software like Xrumer don’t ask me where to get this though, but using this you can automate a lot of posts.
4. Some work ethic - realistically you can do this for 30-40 mins a day and leave a bunch of comments on a ton of forums or blogs.
So step one read the guide over at Esrun about how to do the basics and use these files to get yourself setup, next step is go to Google and type in the word “Forums” with the term your searching from in front of it, i.e ebooks, amazon or any product you are promoting try poker or goto a health forum on a specific product and goto the FAQ section or somewhere were people who are about to buy are looking for answers.
That’s it, it’s just that easy =)
Leave your comments rinse and repeat and your done, i will be running a 30 day test and report back with the results. Till then what do you do? Any places you want to share?
P.S. Shout out to Esrun for writing such a good post on the subject, no need to duplicate his post, the internet already has enough duplicate content. ![]()

Now are we doing this for fun or cash? We know it can be done but how about the ethics
Doug
Well you raise a good question DougS we are doing this first for fun and if it makes enough money then we will be doing it for profit.
As far as ethics goes, i come from a sales background i have lost a ton of money because when customers come back they “forget” to mention or simply don’t care to remember the sales people who they dealt with, most people remember large purchases i.e a car or a house but all the little things i.e clothing, cell phones, electronics people don’t remember who helped them, this is a lost commission and from what i have learnt it is the rep who has dealt with the customer last who gets the commission so i think there is zero conversation for ethics but thats my opinion.
Ethically its wrong to do, and I personally dont agree, but you know what CJ has apraised some of the affiliates who were doing cookie stuffing back in 2005 and gave them awards, but later they found out what was going behin the scenes and took the awards back, but what about the commision those affiliates earned ? nothing was returned, and people made a couple of $100K with this..
A single threaded bot would also work in this scenario. Again we are talking about ethics, right? If you scripted common forums with JScript in WSH, one could have pretty good success. In the mean time, we’re waiting for the results.
