Fun Friday Part Deux: Top 5 Youtube Talents Under 30

Written by The Kid on March 28, 2008

I have officially gone crazy i’m doing another fun friday on the same day OMG, well here’s the deal my buddy sent me this Youtube video and it got me thinking, hmmmm wow this kid is talented there must be more out there. So i have compiled a list of the top 5 people on Youtube that i think have the most talent. The requirments were more than 1 hit and under 30 with a consitent selection of hits.

#5 Olivia Thai - This girl has the voice and the looks to make it big i’m surprised no has signed her yet, from Californa and only 19 she is about to blow up(not literally).

#4 David Choi - This guy must have the ladies falling all over him, he has a great voice and can play the guitar, wow what else can i say, how about with 40,000 subscribers he is one of Youtube’s finest!

#3 Nick Pitera - If your unfamiliar with Nick this guy is a freak he can imitate a womans voice better than Ned Flanders, i don’t know how he does it but the guy has skills, you will either love him or hate him but he can sing.

#2 Esmee Denters - This girl has talent and she does it all with a webcam no professional equipment which is a huge bonus, considering most of the pop world will not sing without extensive filters, specific mics and a multitude of mixers, Esmee proves all you need is a voice

#1 Ronald Jenkees - Here it is the number 1 spot, why is Ronald #1? Well personality is huge “Hello Youtubers” secondly skills this kid has so much soul it’s disgusting and he rips on a keyboard like no one i have ever seen, he is the best. Think hip hop meets soul meets tetris and you have his sound. Enjoy!

Because he is so good he gets two videos

Now get back to work! Tomorrow back to PPC

Ronald’s got some serious skill, even if it does look like he doesn’t get out much.

Except for #1, these aren’t examples of talent, they’re just imitation of artists that are already signed.

People don’t deserve recognition just because they can just sing/play what others have already made. They deserve it when they bring something new and creative to the plate.

    They’re good, but not great.

it always amazes me how easily people are impressed these days. today’s music has desensitized the modern world to real musical ability. ronald’s stuff is child’s play for any concert pianist. if you wanna see some good playing go see a rachmaninov piano concerto….

    What about Lisa Lavie?????

Okay okay, true. But I still can’t play like any concert pianist either. Also with Ronald’s electro style, I think you’ll find it appeals to a completely different audience than Rachmaninov

Ronald is improvising, last time I checked, Rachmaninov could take months to write a concerto, he didn’t make it up as he went along. Also, Rachy didn’t make his own beats. Two different elements, and you can’t compare them. I’d bet money that Ronald could play any piano concerto you put in front of him, but he’d prefer to write his own beats and jam over them.

meh just my opinion, but I still need to get a piano and get learning…

If your looking at piano skills, Kyle Landry has to be THE best i’ve ever seen.

Ronald Jenkees is awesome. I’ve looked at more of his music, and his ability to improvise and compose definitely surpasses anyone i’ve seen. There are some on the internet who are really good at things like this- David Sides, in particular. He listens to hip-hop songs and plays them on the piano- and he does this by ear.

What a load of crap. The singers all sound like they’re impersonating the artist their covering, they have no genuine talent. Also learning how to play a song by ear is no big deal especially hip-hop, (where the beat, though it may sound complex really isn’t that unusual), will stay like that for the rest of the song. If Ronald or David Sides covered say, an Aphex Twin piece now THAT would be impressive.

if he “rips on a keyboard like no one i have ever seen” you need to see more people playing the keys.
