It’s the Blueprint 3 Baby! Lessons from Jay-Z
Written by The Kid on August 8, 2008Well it’s that time of year, no updates fixing things and working on stuff, i know i haven’t posted in a long time but the patience will pay off i promise I’ve been working on some cool projects and will keep you updated!
In other news, the magic is happening and it’s time for the 4th quarter and it’s time for Jay-Z to drop his final album before he starts his own label and changes the music industry forever. About 2 weeks ago i was lucky enough to see Jay at an event with 40,000 other people and stood in the 8th row. So what lessons can we learn from him?
1) Plan - From day one on the Reasonable Doubt album Jay-Z had a plan in place to retire at the top and to layout a plan how to get there, always have a plan on what you want to do and how you want to exit. Never start a site without an exit plan, are you going to keep the site as a cash cow? try to sell it to a bigger company? know you strategy!
2) Confidence - Nobody in rap has more confidence than Jay-Z and it shows in everything he does on and off the stage, whether it’s the fact a “funny” looking guy could get a girl like Beyonce or the lyrics that he spits in his tracks he has confidence and everyone knows it. If you don’t have confidence in the site you are working on or the project you are doing, either stop reevaluate and think about why you started and refocus or cut your loses and move on to the next project.
3) Team - Nobody has a better team around them then Jay does, his girlfriend is amazingly talented and a superstar all his friends from L.A Reid to the Late Christopher Wallace were all legends in there own right! Do you spend your time with people making the same amount of money as you, or do you spend time with people making a lot more money than you do? Think what people would more likely help you succeed.
Last but not least just like Jay make sure you are always growing and doing new things, so as promised here you go!

Awesome article, bro! HOVA is the man and one of UBD’s top inspirations. HOV, Biggie and Kanya are the soundtracks to our lives - Jay Z is not just an incredible artist - he is baller business man too! Can’t wait for BP3!
