Fun Fridays: Top Ten Impersonations

Written by The Kid on April 4, 2008

Impersonations are considered the holy grail of comedy, well maybe not for everyone but for me, nothing makes me laugh more then watching someone do a spot on impression. There is only one person who loves impersonations more than i do and that is David Letterman thanks to David for getting a lot of this talent and allowing them to use his stage to share this gift.

I love them so much i have complied my top ten list of my favorite impressions.

10. Reggie Regg does a spot on impression of Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman.

9.Rob Magnotti - why watch Everybody loves Raymond when you can just watch Rob he also does a great Bill Cosby.

8. Mike MacRae - From Harrison Ford to Ozzy Osbourne Mike gets it perfect and makes everything flow flawlessly!

7. Aries Spires -Best known for his work on Madtv he is also a very good impressionist anyone who knows hip hop will love his impression of everyone from Jay-z to Snoop Dogg!

6. Eddie Murphy - The first time i saw Eddie in Delirious is was seriously life changing i never laughed that hard in my life, this is from the follow up which is Raw and it is the standard for Bill Cosby impressions.

also a bonus video of him doing a Richard Prior impersonation he is the KING!

5. Matt Damon - On the late show with David Letterman Matt Damon showed a skill i didn’t know he had, he did an amazing impersonation of Matthew Mcconaughey don’t ask him to do anyone else though.

4. Rich Little - He is a Vegas favorite and been on the scene for a very long time Rich does an amazing Ronald Reagan, but his talent is to keep the people laughing the whole time.

3. Kevin Pollock - Winning the bronze Kevin Pollock is the standard for Christopher Walken impressions and he he has a great range of other voices.

2. Frank Caliendo - He might be the best impressionist of the new millenium he has an amazing range of people and was a hard hard choice for number two but he does a great job and if the number one hadn’t been so good then he would have number one for sure.

1. Kevin Spacey - He’s a talented actor but he is an amazing impressionist this is honestly the best impression i have ever see he nails everyone he is doing and he is genius, with such a wide range that’s why he gets the top spot.

    Who do you talk to?

Written by The Kid on April 3, 2008

In the post i wrote in March The Power of Contacts i said that it’s not who you know it’s what you do with who you know that matters. I wrote in the post that one great way is to meet people is at conferences but you can only attend so many this year i think i will be going to about 5 maybe 6, but there are at least over 300+ days to network so how do you do it?

    Forums for success

Forums are a great place to network learn from people and strike up friendships, some of the forums that i read are.

    www.digitalpoint.com

    www.wickedfire.com

    www.dnforum.com

    forum.digeratimarketing.co.uk

    www.syndk8.net

    Pay Attention

And some more all located in the resources section of this blog, so how do you network? Well before you go and send private messages to everyone first your going to want to learn the forums, Digital Point is a friendly forum while Wickedfire will flame you to hell if you ask something stupid. A forum is just a gathering of similar minded people and if you don’t read it right you will look like a tool and lose the respect of a lot of members who could potentially become your friends and potential business partners.

Don’t try to be everyones friend

In each forum there are different cliques and that is the key pay attention to who likes who and figure out who is the smartest then start leaving comments that actually add to the content of the post, or even a different insight but don’t just put “nice post +rep”.

Follow these tips to make friends and business partners and watch your business soar, what do you do? How do you make new contacts online?

Leave a comment and let me know.

    How To Master Many Hats

Written by The Kid on April 2, 2008

Anyone who knows me knows i try to be a jack of all trades, i am an affiliate marketer i am a arbitrageur and i am a blogger and an investor, so how do i keep organized?

Here’s my secret first of all write a list of what you want to accomplish THE NIGHT BEFORE remember it has to be the night before, the next morning when you wake up DO NOT check email or voice mail or any instant messenger, i personally shower then i eat then i work, this helps me get my brain going and helps me focus on what i need to do that day.

A lot of my daily routine is mundane tasks, checking stats, analytics looking at what new offers have come out, checking sites and updating blogs. I use the FireFox Save All Tabs Feature. I then break them into categories.

    Firefox Multiple Tabs Open

    9:30am Wake up, Shower, Eat

10-10:20am then i will check my arbitrage sites first thing in the morning to see how my babies have been doing so i will click on my Arbitrage saved bookmark tab in FireFox, open all those check stats, tweak what i need to then move on from there.

10:30-11:30 Next i generally look at my AM campaigns and see if anything is new from any of the networks that may be interesting, see keyword performance and look at reports.

11:30-12:30 After that it’s fun time, now it’s time to check emails and open up Google Reader and your favourite forums to see the latest gossip and any news.

12:30 - 2 Lunch, lunch is a great time to relax unwind.

2:15-3:15 Stock time after the markets close (west coast time) i bring up some tools i use to invest and screen for stocks see if there is anything worth looking into, i also do research check some charts look at patterns and make some orders for the next day.

3:15 If i’m a good boy i will write a couple posts but depending on the weather i may just relax outside or go out. I normally jump back on the computer later after dinner and try a few offers out make a couple campaigns to test, but everyday is different, people in my opinion need flexibility.

That’s a pretty average day, this schedule isn’t super rigid it’s flexible, which is the main reason i work for myself, i hated being told what to do at a regular job. If i don’t sleep till 5am which is known to happen every now and then, then the next day i wont start till 11 or 12 but that’s ok.

The most important thing is consistenly write down the night before the things you need to accomplish the next day and DO IT, also to use technology to help you and not hinder you i.e the FireFox save tabs feature.

What routines do you have? Any Tips or Tricks you want to share? Leave A Comment.

    April Fools is Finally Over!

Written by The Kid on April 1, 2008

Well thank god April fools is over, well almost over and now it’s time to move on but before we do i think it’s important to recap the best April fools jokes of this year.

    6) Microsoft launches new Spring Accessories for the 360

What was one of the better pranks this year was Microsoft launching the new spring accessories, some of the accessories include an Xbox Live board game and a Retro Wooden 360 which would be bad ass!

    5) Shoemoney shows how easy it is to make $1000/hour

    4) John Chow Rick Rolls 22,000 subscribers

With a sneaky post about Paul from Uberaffiliate was apparently launching a site with all his affiliate secrets but the link was to a classic Rick Roll.

    3) Google joint venture with Virgin

Virgle is born and people need to be deployed to space, you could tell this one was a joke right away because besides being socially awkward Sergi and Larry can’t keep a straight face at all.

    2) Youtube Rick Rolls Itself

In what is now an Internet phenomenon Youtube thought it would be funny to Rick Roll it’s own users by replacing some of the featured videos with videos of Rick Astley. Wow didn’t see that one coming.

    1) Cracked.com gets on Judge Joe Brown

Wow after all the planning and time Cracked.com gets on the show Judge Joe Brown on the premise that a friend was supposed to hire strippers for his friends bachelor party he decides to pull a trick and hire shemales! Wow This Is A Must Watch!

I Do the Testing So You Don’t Have To!

Written by The Kid on March 31, 2008

The Internet is crap or at least full of a lot of it, so what do i do? I like to waste my hard earned (not really that hard earned) money on other things people say, you will never be able to accuse me or my blog of saying an idea and not implementing it, for every idea i read on other blogs i then try it because they always claim to be making money from it, then if it makes me money i will then tell you about it, if it doesn’t then it goes into the black pit of darkness. You see a lot of people preaching strategy especially in the SEO industry and i can’t stand it i like people who speak their mind and actually do what i say, that’s why someone i respect a lot is Wil from Thinkseer he does what he preaches and i respect that.

So i have been running a test on free web hosting and it is about to end on April 15Th i will let you know how it went and whether the amount of work is worth doing it and how much you can expect to make, I’m also just launching a test tomorrow which will be done at the end of the month, I’ll give you a hint it rhymes with COOKIE STUFFING, i have high hopes for this one.

So what are some posts or ideas you would like me to test out? Leave a comment and let me know so you don’t waste your hard earned dollars.
