Stop being a weirdo so go meet some people!

handshake.thumbnail Stop being a weirdo so go meet some people!Tomorrow i will be meeting with some of the nice people at Neverblue ad’s if you haven’t heard of Neverblue they are one of the rising stars of the internet, a lot of people lately have been recommending that i check them out, so i have done that and by coincidence i will be near they’re office tomorrow and they have offered to take me out to lunch. What a great way to start off a new relationship with a company.

When does online become offline

Networking offline is just as important as networking online, in fact i would argue it can be more important. I first started online full time about a year ago, i was reading Digg one day when i read this article written by John Chow and i decided to email John where it turned out he actually lived in the same city as me, since then i have networked with people like Ed Lau, Stephen Fung, Michael Kwan, and many more people. In fact i would call alot of these people now my friends.

The importance of going to meetups and events

Going to event’s whether it be local or even international is critical to anyone looking to work online, i’m sure if your only wanting to make a couple thousand dollars a month it can be done by yourself. In fact i’m certain that you can do it, but i don’t settle for a couple of thousand dollars a month income, i want 10’s if not 100’s of thousands of dollar a month income, i’m talking Uber Affiliate income (incase you don’t know what i mean check it out) which is why i love to meet new people. Which brings me to my next point, are you going to Affiliate Summit West? I will be there and if Uber Affiliate is there guess who will be first inline to talk and network with him? You guessed it.

Who’s in your network?

The reason i have been successful online and i manage to be successful is due to my network of people I interact with. Bob Metcalfe (founder of 3Com) can say it better than i could he says

“The value of the network, though, would be proportional to the square of the number of users. Multiply the number of networked computers by ten and your systemwide cost goes up by a factor of ten but the value goes up a hundredfold.”

What he is saying that if you have only 1 person in your network it is just you and only you, you are limited with what you can accomplish. The second you ad another person the value of a network doesn’t go to 2 it goes to 4, it’s exponential growth. Take a look at my network thanks to Blog World, Dot Com Pho Saturdays and many other events i’ve managed to meet and network with people like Shoemoney, John Chow, Mr Gary Lee, Ms Danielle, Michael Kwan, Ed Lau, Ian Lee from ADS-Links, Nate Whitehill, Stephen Fung, Gary from Daily Kimchi Blog, Jason from Millnic Media and more ,guess where i go when i have questions? What is the value of my network, so by going to events, tradeshows and meetups you give yourself the tools to succeed.

I do not say all the following to show off, in fact i say this to inspire you, you are probley harder working than i am infact i bet you could even make more money than i can, but as long as you are at home not meeting peope and not growing good luck!

So i better see all of you Affiliate Summit West in Vegas in Febuary.

=)
